Villa (in French and English: Villa) is a building that, in today’s definition, faces the outside from four sides, and it is usually built around cities or in villas. Of course, in some countries, construction laws allow citizens to build villas inside the city, and residential houses are built in the form of villas. A villa is a single-level structure that often has an outside patio and front garden or terrace. They may share at least one wall with a neighboring villa or be separate.

History

The construction of villas started in the ancient Roman Republic, and at that time, the valuable buildings of the upper class of society were built in the form of villas in large courtyards or gardens. After repairs and changes, they were used again as aristocratic buildings.

Iran

In Iran, in public culture, houses that have a four-sided view or a sloping roof are usually called villa houses, and in the north of Iran, due to the humid climate, most of the houses were built as villas, and with the expansion of cities, the number of villas in the city centers decreased. But in the suburbs and towns, villas are visible.
